Discover Nature in Ma Wan

Ma Wan is a small island which has a wide range of habitats that support many plants and animal species. It is an ideal place for our children to learn about nature, to appreciate, respect and care for the environment through exploration activities throughout the year. Nature provides great opportunities for discovery, creativity, problem solving and STEM education. Interacting with natural environments allows children to learn by doing and experiment with ideas.

Real-Life Experience, Connecting with Community

A close relationship has been established between the school and the community. The fire station, the pier, the nature park, Noah’s Ark, supermarket, and the Ma Wan old village became children’s classrooms. Children turn everyday life into learning experiences outside of the classrooms.

Sunny Campus, Active Children

Our campus has a 2,100 square feet outdoor playground. The playground has a variety of play structures and equipment for gross motor activities and sports events. The running tracks allow children to jog, to ride their trikes, and to race just like the Olympic Games.

Reading is Fun

Reading is the foundation of children’s learning. It is crucial for children’s cognitive and language development. To encourage reading, our school has fostered a great reading environment. The “Reading is Fun” Programme encourages children to borrow their favourite books and cultivate good reading habits.

Character Education

Our school organizes diverse character education activities like the “Excellent Award Program,” “My Pledge to Act,” “Respect and Love for the Elderly,” and other meaningful programmes. They help children learn about positive values, build up a good character and nurture children to be thankful and humble.

Facilities

"Environment is an Important Educational Resource"

Creative Kindergarten and Day Nursery (Ma Wan) is located in Park Island, commonly known as the "Smoke-Free Town” in a breathtaking natural environment. The school building integrates with this beautiful environment, with plenty of daylight, spacious activities areas, and state of the art facilities.

We pay attention to of every detail of the campus. Appropriate design and layout create a joyful learning environment, stimulate children's learning and cultivate self-care ability.

Our school covers an area of 11,800 square feet, with a total of 10 classrooms, an auditorium, and an outdoor playground of 2,000 square feet.

Indoor and Outdoor Playground

Both our outdoor and indoor playgrounds are equipped with a variety of play structures and physical education facilities for children to carry out different activities such as gross motor activities and parent-child sports day. Physical activities help bring up a healthy child, support physical development, build confidence, and enhance perseverance. At the same time, children have fun and become lovers of sports.

The running tracks allow children to jog, to ride their trikes, and to race just like the Olympic Games.

Creative Garden

There is a small garden on campus for teachers and students to carry out green activities. Teachers and students will carry out planting activities in different seasons. In the garden are gold fishes and turtles. Children have an opportunity to take care of small animals, observe the growth of gold fishes and turtles and learn to respect animals.

Free-Play Area

For children’s social development, the school has designed different thematic free-choice activity areas to provide real-life experience learning, which cover six major developmental areas, including Language, Early Childhood Mathematics, Arts and Creativity, Physical Fitness and Health, Nature and Living, and Self and Society.

English Fun Zone

The English Fun Zone is set up in a rich English learning environment, where NET teachers and children are engaged in a variety of games and dramatic play.

Classroom

The classrooms are uniquely designed according to children’s different development stages. Each classroom has its own theme beautifully designed by teachers and showcases children’s work as well.

Toddler's Area

Our school has designed a " Toddler’s Area" with developmentally appropriate games, teaching aids and learning activities for the 2-3 years old children. Through taking part in these interesting activities with different themes throughout the year, children develop an interest in learning, develop their language skills, cognitive skills, and social skills, building a good foundation for learning.
